Different Blocks Explained

Building blocks can be used to add different types of content to your portal, from text and images to videos and to-do lists. With blocks, you’ll be able to create a portal that meets your client’s needs and keeps them informed every step of the way. So, let’s take a closer look at the different types of blocks available and how you can use them to create a client portal that works for your business.

Text Block #

This is where you can enter rich text, and add links, lists, and images. The text editor lets you customize your text with headings, style, and alignment, making it easy to share information with your clients.

Image Block #

Upload an image and make it stand out on your portal. Just remember that the image will be uploaded in the size you provide.

Youtube Video Block #

Add a YouTube video directly into your portal by pasting the video’s URL. Your clients will be able to watch the video without leaving your portal.

Timeline Snapshot Block #

Keep your clients informed by displaying the latest task items that have been completed, are in progress, and are upcoming. This block generates a text link to see the complete timeline.

Card Block #

The Card block is one of the most versatile blocks on Peppery. It allows you to share a variety of different types of information, such as links, files, and even to-do items. Here’s a more detailed breakdown of how the Card block works.

Creating a Card #

To create a card, simply click on the “Cards” block and then click on the “Add Item” button. This will open up the card editor, where you can customize your card. You can choose an icon, add a title, and enter a description. This makes it easy to provide your clients with context about what the card is for and what information it contains.

Choosing the Type of Card #

Choose the type of card that you want to create. Peppery offers several different types of cards, including:

Link: Use this type to link to an external website or resource. This is great for sharing information with your clients that you don’t want to host directly on your portal.

File: Use this type of card link to a file or document that you uploaded to your portal. This is a great way to highlight important files and make them easily accessible to your clients.

Upload: Use this type of card to prompt your clients to upload a file or document. Use this type when you need your clients to provide you with information or documents for a project.

Page: Use this type of card to link to one of your published pages.

Adding Checkmarks:

If you want your clients to take action on a specific card, you can add checkmarks to the card. For example, you might want your client to review a Google Doc or pay an invoice. Once the client has completed the task, they can mark the card as complete.

Blocks help you to display all kinds of information and allow you to create a portal that’s as unique as your business.
